If I could be anyone, I'd be
Marion Zimmer Bradley
MZB has done so much for the fantasy genre, especially female-centered fantasies. She has written so many wonderful novels, including her most famous work, The Mists of Avalon, a retelling of the Camelot legend from the point of view of the women involved. She also started the Sword and Sorceress anthologies, which gave several authors their start, including Mercedes Lackey (who I almost picked over MZB). I hope one day to have a short story in S&S!

Great pick! It'd be awesome to have a story in S&S one day. Mercedes Lackey would've been a good choice too. :)
Hi Nicole! I haven't read the Sword and Sorceress anthologies but now I'm intrigued :)
Fab choice. I love that you've chosen a writer you admire. I've heard of her and The Mists of Avalon, but I don't get around to reading much fantasy these days. Shame because I love a good fantasy story. :)
Sounds like a fantastic woman. I can't believe I've never heard of her -- great choice.
Thank you so much for taking part, Nicole!
I honestly do not know who I'd be if I could be anyone. I know there are aspects of other people's lives I wish I could have...like selling lots and lots of books and being sent on a big fancy book tour and such...but I'd still want to be me!!
Marion Zimmer Bradley is kind of hit and miss with the books that she writes and whether or not they resonate with me. I don't like her entire catalogue. But I do like Mists of Avalon.
I remember that I really enjoyed The Mists of Avalon. Was just a young gal when I read it. Time for a reread probably.
I adore Marion Zimmer Bradley. Her Darkover books are incredible and I wish I had the entire collection to read a gain.
Ah, such a great choice. Women who have broken new ground in writing and specific genres are always so inspiring!
MZB, how interesting! I've been seeing these "who would you be" posts in my blog browsing this morning. Who would I be? Wow...not sure. It's not that bad to be me! ;o)
Great choice! I really admire MZB. I don't know who I would be if I had the choice.
She's been a big influence on the genre.
I still can't believe I haven't read The Mists of Avalon. I'm so lame. But great choice. If I were to pick an author I'd want to be it might be Margaret Atwood or some saucy authoress who speaks her mind. :)
Oooh...I like your choice! It seems you are well on your way, Nicole.
That's a really cool person to pick. I hadn't heard of her before.
I've never heard of her before, but she sounds like a interesting person!
I'm a bit ashamed to admit I've never heard of her. But from your description, she seems like a great pick! :)
Good choice, Nicole! I've tried to get a story into s&s with no luck yet.
Good luck with yours!!
I loved the Mists of Avalon. Great choice Nicole. I was wondering who you would pick.
Cool! Gotta love Marion! Congrats on the release, Talli! <3

Can Alex save Winter from the darkness that hunts her?
YA Paranormal Romance, Darkspell coming fall of 2011!
very cool! I'd never hard of MZB, but it seems like "Mists of Avalon" is familiar. Yay, Nicole! :D
I'd be Gandalf!!!! Does that count? :) A female version of him?
I'm so excited to read this book and love hearing all the buzz about it!
That is a great choice for you, Nicole! She would be flattered.
Ohhh good choice!
And major congrats to Talli!
Congratulations to Talli Roland! I honestly don't know who I'd want to be. Too many to chose from.
When I was young, I always wanted to be Jane Goodall and live in the mountains of Africa with chimpanzees. How much fun would THAT be??
Thanks for voting for Paradise 21, Nicole!!! :)
Oh, I loved The Mists of Avalon, a truly beautiful book.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog. If I could be anyone, I'd be Stephen King's editor. Then I could read all his work way before the publication date and for free.
Would you believe I'm still going through some of Talli's launch day participants? I like your choice!
