Are you the kind of person who flourishes when a deadline is looking? Or do you panic and stress out and freak out instead of working?
I'm the former. I need deadlines. I need to have a goal, something that keeps me in line and focused. Without deadlines, I just flounder along, making excuses. A deadline wipes out my excuses and leaves me with nothing but work.
In case you can't tell, I'm on a deadline for Champion of Valor, so that's why this post is so short. Hope everything's going well for you all, whether you're working for a deadline or not!

I'm a bit of both. The Queen of Efficiency and multitasking, I am focused and on-task like you wouldn't believe...but then I HATE it. I don't like feeling rushed and worrying I won't have enough time or that I might make a mistake.
I definitely need deadlines. I stress over them, but feel they are healthy for me. They push and drive me forward--the direction I want to be going in. lol
I do both, but I go into zen mode when the pressure is on.
:-)
I need deadlines, but at times, they can panic me for a second before I calm down and get to work. I was always pushing deadlines in high school and college, though. Now, I try to get my writing done before deadline, so I can spend time editing and revising it before submitting.
Good luck with your deadline!
I can work with either. Sometimes a deadline means I just procrastinate.
I need the deadline too. I work better under pressure. Even if deadlines are self-imposed, I always throw it out there for my crit partners to know so they can help push me to achieve.
If the deadline is realistic, it really helps me. But if it's way too soon it stresses me out to no end.
So for me, I do have to plan ahead. Otherwise I'm dead meat.
Yes, deadlines are necessary or I just procrastinate until it never gets done...Good luck with yours!
I freak out and procrastinate, mostly the latter, but when that deadline is right on top of me, I'm all over it, kicking its butt. Problem is, I don't like life like this. I want to finish early, have time to make changes or fix any last minute issues. But, I'm always better when under pressure and I know it. *shrugs*
Best wishes for meeting yours!
In truth, I think my situation has me focused. Good luck with your book.

I'd sure like to find out! :)
Good luck with your deadline! :) I do okay with deadlines, but I'd rather plan ahead and have lots of time "just in case." Less stressful that way! Enjoy your weekend--or maybe I should say a PRODUCTIVE one. :)
I work much better with deadlines. Nothing like a looming deadline to act as a motivator :)
Hugs,
