The Only 12 1/2 Writing Rules You'll Ever Need
Another short post today.
My favorite rule is 12 1/2. :)
The one I break the most is 1. I don't always write every day. I try to, but it doesn't always happen. Regardless, I'm always thinking about my stories and trying to work out details and new scenes and dialogue, plus coming up with new ideas. So I think that rule should be changed.
Hm... maybe next week, I'll come up with my set of writing rules. New blog post idea! :)
What are you working on today? Writing? Reading? Have any plans for the weekend?

I have this. I've thought about blogging about it. Great advice!!
Awesome list. I haven't seen it before. I do #1 most of the time, even if it's just editing my wip.
That's a great poster. #1 is also the one I end up breaking the most too.
This weekend I plan to write! Just as soon as I get that downed tree in my front yard moved anyway...
I don't end up writing every day, unless blog posts, emails, and the like count. *winks*
As for today, I'll be working on more blog posts and critiquing a manuscript. I'll have more of the same on Saturday most likely, and I'm hoping to get a lot of writing done Sunday. *crosses fingers*
Have a good weekend!
My favorite rule is number 4 about poetry. I cannot stand people who tell me my poems aren't poems because they don't rhyme :) it really made me laugh out loud. Great rules. Thanks for sharing.
I don't always write my novel every day, but I am certainly writing (even now!). And blogging. And critiquing. And reading. And, yanno, that life stuff. :)
Happy Weekend!
Today I focused on finishing a library book so I could return it tomorrow which pushed back my scheduled writing from 4 to 6:30 but I still made myself do it and actually had fun and wrote a few hundred more words than I have in the last day or two. And then I wrote two reviews. So I'm counting today as a good writer day. My weekend will consist of taking out a lovely stack of books from the library (for fantasy month, yes!) and then going to a ladies' night with strippers and drag queens, oh my.

#3 Is the big winner for me. Routine, routine, er...etc.
But you forgot one thing, a plentiful supply of chocolate within arms reach.
I don't write every day either. When I'm editing I tend not to write at all. I tried to for a while, but living in one mc's world and mine is hard enough, living in two mc's worlds and mine was just more than I could handle.
