Question of the Week - Happiness and Tears

Have you ever been so happy you cried?

I have. When my then boyfriend proposed to me, I got teary eyed. Again on our wedding day. The first time I held son #1 and then son #2. I'm sure I will for baby #3. So I guess some of the major milestones in my life I've been so happy I cried.

  1. I have too. When we adopted my daughter and I held her for the first time. Can't wait for your good news announcement.

  2. By your standards, I'm a major weeper - I well up at the big stuff, but I'm just as likely to have a tear in my eye watching my youngest son role-play with his toys, or belly-laugh at adult humour (not 'adult', just grown-up humour), or my eldest telling me he loves me... Okay, the question for me should be: when are you NOT in tears, and do you have time for anything else?

  3. Heck, I cry while watching happy stories on the news or overly joyous parts in movies. Yep, I cry easily. I'm with Annalisa as to what the more appropriate question should have been. :)

  4. I'm with Annalisa--yes, I cry for big things, but also for small ones. For some reason, live music played really well gets me every time.

  5. I think it's a mommy thing. I laugh until I cry more though. :)

  6. I cried when each of my four kids were born.
Can't wait to hear the news on your #3!

  7. No, I usually just keep laughing until people tell me to shut the bleep up. True. Sometimes I get started and just can't stop.

  8. hmm, not for me personally. I've gotten misty eyed at friend's weddings, just because i'm so happy for them.
Sometimes i cry because i love people in my life so much, but that's not quite the same thing

  9. I'm with Sarah. Just misty eyed at certain times, but not really.

  10. I think the question for me would be have I ever been overjoyed and not cried! LOL I cry easily!

  11. Haha :) Great question. I have this weird thing about crying...I don't. Almost ever, unless I'm alone. There have, however, been a few movies that got me teary eyed, though I can't remember whether it was from sorrow or joy. I think both, actually :)

  12. I cry allllllllll the time for basically any emotion, lol. I guess I'm just sensitive, so of course I decided to become a struggling author, lol. BTW, no baby yet but you'll have a book to read soon:) Did you see my post yet? ~hugs

  13. I'm a crier for happy things. I balled the entire ceremony when I got married. I might have cried when my daughter was born but I was so doped up from meds I really can't remember.

  18. Aw, those are happy things, to be sure! I'm so lame--I can't remember a time when I was so happy I cried. Though, it takes a lot to make me teary so .... Maybe I never have? I've certainly been happy enough, though :)

  19. I don't really cry when I'm happy, but sometimes I wish I could.
I hope baby comes soon. I'm excited for you. I keep watching for the announcement.
