Question of the Week - Weakness

Copyright (c) 123RF Stock Photos

What do you consider to be your biggest weakness? The weakness of your favorite literary character? The weakness of one of your characters?

My weakness - I sometimes have a hard time saying no when someone asks me for help so I might bit off more than I can chew.

Snape's weakness - wow, that's tough. Probably his anger.

One of the princesses in my current WIP has a lack of self confidence.

And just as a heads up - I'll be announcing the details for my 1,000 followers contest next week, I promise!

  1. Awesome that you hit 1000 followers. Congrats! We're doing a 2000 follower giveaway today.

I'm like you. I have a hard time saying no. Though I am trying to be better about it so I have more time for writing.

  3. One of my biggest weaknesses (I have several) is not valuing myself or my time enough. I put everything else first too often.

I do love Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, but she can sometimes overreact to situations.

And, let's see, my main character's biggest weakness would be trusting the men in her life. They betray her every time.

  4. 1000 is an impressive number. Hope I can get there someday.
My weakness is always wanting to be in charge and micro managing instead of sitting back and letting others do more of the work.
In my epic fantasy series, my hero weakness is his fear of abandonment.

  5. Mine - procrastination. My protag's - fear of trusting.

  6. I know when to say no - most of the time. But I'm a perfectionist and that can really slow down progress for me.

  7. I too easily say no! Not sure what my worst weakness is. Well maybe I am, but don't want to say LOL.

  8. I have a tendency towards self-doubt. When I tackle something, I usually feel I am doing it wrong. My main character's weakness, see there I go....not sure!

    Congratulations on passing the 1000mark!

  9. Congratulations! That's a lot of followers. I can't think of a favorite literary character - I tend to think of literature in terms of favorite authors. For me, it might be patience. One of my characters has a problem with anxiety and perfectionism.

  13. Hmmm, probably that I'm too nice which seems like it goes along with not saying no.

  14. Good questions. Let's see, me - short fuse. Favorite literary character...who is it, um, for today Rhett Butler - arrogance. MC in WIP - controlling.

Snape's one of my all time favorite characters too. :)

  15. Good question... for me it's taking on too many projects and then wondering why I can't get any of them completed:)

In my new novel the MC's weakness is she runs away from anything confrontational... though she learns to change later in the novel:)
