Question of the Week - Least Favorite Things

What is your least favorite book? Movie? Restaurant?

Ethan Frome. I had to read it for school. Took me countess times to get past the first page. Then it took me countless times to get past the first chapter. I just could not get into this story.

Slapstick comedies. Any of them. I just don't find them funny.

Denny's. After an awful experience when the food was just awful for not just me but my entire family. Just about everyone in the restaurant complained to the manager that night and everyone got dessert for free. Still didn't make up for the disgusting food though and I haven't gone back to Denny's since.

  1. Denny's and Huddle House are both disgusting. And I'm not into slapstick either. Or crude, bathroom humor.

  2. I LOVE Ethan Frome. Try reading it on a cold, bleak day when you don't feel like getting dressed. I didn't love the ending - I didn't believe the girl could really fall in love with Ethan. But the last chapter, the thing that happens with his wife is perfection.

  3. Book- Not big on Ethan Frome, but the book I least liked was In The Woods by Tana French. I never learned the answer to the question at the beginning of the book.

Movies- Not sure, there are so many I haven't seen.

Restaurant- Hmm. I've never had a really bad experience, but the scariest would be the KFC we went to in Buffalo.

  4. I don't know because bad books come in all forms, same with movies.

As for restaurants I really hate any place with a buffet.

  5. Least favorite book? Anything horror.

    Least favorite movie? Anything horror.

Least favorite restaurant? Shari's. The last time I went the food was undercooked and the waitress tried to tell me I was too picky. Undercooked meat is dangerous and thank you, I don't feel like getting food poisoning.

  6. Least Favorite Book: Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. It was the kind of book that I should have loved, but weird writing choices like head hopping, a weak opening and not sympathizing with the heroine ruined it.

Least Favorite Movie: Final Fantasy: Spirits Within. It has nothing to do with final fantasy -- it's science fiction and it had a crappy ending. A waste of a perfectly good movie ticket.

Least Favorite Restaurant: The Grizzley Grill. My family paid over $200 for all of us to go there and everyone thought their food sucked. Yet again, waste of cash.

    Great questions. :)

  7. Least favorite book: Catcher in the Rye. It was so long ago, but I remember finishing it and thinking, "Really??" Not impressed.

Least favorite movie: Pulp Fiction. Why oh why did I allow my hubby and his brother to talk me into watching that with them? And why did I sit through the whole, horrendous, disturbing thing?

Least favorite restaurant: Taco Bell. I suddenly realized the last time I ate there that Taco Bell is just...gross.

  8. Least favorite book: Song of Solomon- I just couldn't finish it in college. Too harsh for me with language and too graphic.

Movie: The one with the vampires and George Clooney:From Dusk Til Dawn, and anything Quentin Tarantino makes- way too much for me.

Restaurant: any steak house. There's nothing for me to eat there.

  9. Book - Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It failed my expectations and I couldn't get beyond the first chapter.

Movie - Hm, I'm really not sure. I don't care for slapstick comedies either.

Restaurant - Steak places. It's so hard to find food I can eat, since I'm a vegetarian.

  12. I've never heard of Ethan Frome. I've tried reading The House of Night series a couple times, but I can never get past the cheesy vampire coming up to the girl in the first chapter, pointing to her and being like, *cue stupid cheesy voice* "Now you are a vampire." I was like, REALLY? I couldn't do it.
