What websites are the best ones for stalking agents? Do you stalk agents? Which ones?
(Can you tell from last week and this week that I'm gearing up to visit queryland soon? Wish me luck!)

AgentQueryConnect is my favorite site for that kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check the answers. I don't really stalk agents though I will be querying soon. Casey has a number of them on our sidebar and it might be helpful to check out the ones that you plan to query. I probably will do that.
ReplyDeleteOne agent site I do follow is PubRants-Kristen Nelson's site. I also always check the Guide to Literary Agents site for agent interviews or new agents looking for submissions. Do share what you find out.
I'm stalking them now. :) Follow them on Twitter. I've set up TweetDeck so I can have a seperate agent column of just agents I follow tweets--it's great. You get inside info. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteNah, I don't stalk. The only time I read their blogs these days is when I'm doing Querytracker's The Publishing Publish. Then I go to see what they have to say.
ReplyDeleteI'm not querying right now. When I do query, I check out their blogs and websites and twitter accounts. I don't follow many on twitter. I just do my research when needed.

When I start querying I spend all of my time on Querytracker.net also Absolute Write Water Cooler has helped answer questions I've had. The big thing, Twitter. By following agents on Twitter you get a grasp of who they are, what they are looking for and if they would be a good fit for you. Also they give such valuable information in 140 characters it's worth it even if you feel like a stalker. lol. Good luck!!!!

I follow my favorite authors on Twitter. It's great to interact with them on occasion. Plus there are so many that do cool things on Twitter and Fb and answer questions and such.

ReplyDeleteI do not stalk agents. I don't find it helpful and I'd rather think about it as little as possible. I just want to write and then for people to love what I write. Since that's usually not going to happen, my new motto is send and forget.

ReplyDeleteI like Literary Rambles and Querytracker for checking out agents. But I'm not much for stalking agents. When I get to that point, I better get my stalking skills in order :-)
I follow a few on twitter...There are so many there...
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of agents on twitter, but the absolute best place to find out as much as you can about agents is QueryTracker.net. That's a database that will have links to their blogs, their twitters, their websites, their clients, their PW sales, everything.

I second (third? fourth? fifth?) Query Tracker. Query Tracker is by far the best resource to find agents (and stalk them, since people who submit to them post on the comments section whenever they send a query/submission and whenever they hear back. So you can always kinda tell how long it's taking an agent to go through the submissions. What I do is find the agents on QT and then google them. It's amazing (and scary) how easy it is to simply look up people these days!
