There's a reason why I don't allow anonymous comments on my blog. To many times, people will hide behind anonymity to belittle and degrade people on the internet. If you aren't willing to attach your name to your comment, maybe that should tell you that the comment shouldn't be said.
The world would be a much better place if everyone remembered what our mothers tried to teach us - if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I agree. People seem to be more cruel on the internet because they are cowards and don't have to speak to someone's face.

ReplyDeleteI've had bullies a couple years ago who tried to bully people in my comment section. Some used their real names, others did not. I had to monitor my comments before letting them post for six months until I was sure they left and did not come back.

ReplyDeleteBullying definitely isn't a new phenomenon; it's been around since the dawn of humans. But with the popularity of social networking sites, it's finally being addressed more seriously. Bullying must stop among adults first. Only then will children learn to be compassionate and kind and respectful. Thanks for bringing more awareness to this very serious issue.
Such great points. You'd think we wouldn't have to talk about this anymore, but sadly it seems like it's getting worse.

That's so true. Bullying has to stop.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot harder for kids now with all the technology and social media. Growing up I experience both bullying and the violence that came a long with it. The sad part of all is even though I was the victim kids hated me for trying to get help.
