Question of the Week - Valentine's Day

How was your Valentine's Day? Did you do anything special?

Hubby and I celebrated Valentine's Day early this year. My mom and siblings watched the boys  so hubby could surprise me with tickets to see a Broadway play in NYC on Sunday. We saw Seminar which is about four wannabe writers taking a writing seminar. The instructor was Alan Rickman. He did a phenomenal job. After the show, we were able to get all five cast members to sign our playbills. Now that was awesome. The show was a little too risque for my tastes but I was surprised by how much I laughed. It was a great trip.

  1. Cooked dinner for my wife, exchanged cards and sweets, watched Downton Abbey and went to bed.

Boring? Fairly, but she had to work late. Our real Valentine's is tonight; we're going to watch a special screening of the Princess Bride at a local theater, complete with 5 course feast and wine pairings. So excited! :)

    Glad the trip went well,

    EJ

  2. That sounds like a fun show!
Valentine's is also our anniversary, but we don't do much. After Christmas and my b-day is January, we are gifted out. So we don't do gifts, but we did go to dinner without the four kids-so that was nice. :)

  5. sounds fun. I made crepes for breakfast, taped hearts with messages all over my kids bedroom doors and my husbands office door and left them bags of candy and made a heart-shaped meatloaf (my husband's favorite meal) and chocolate pie for dinner. My kids bought me a rose.

  6. Alan Rickman is an awesome actor! Celebrating early was wise - who wants to go OUT on Valentine's Day?

  9. An early Valentine's sounds like a great idea. Glad you had a wonderful time.

I spent my day of love feeling loved by my daughter, relaxing after work and reading. Dull, I'm sure, but very peaceful :-)
